Record Year Sees Sioux Falls Marathon Raise Over $23,500 for Sanford Children’s Miracle Network

The Sioux Falls Sports Authority and the Sanford Health Foundation are thrilled to announce that the 2016 Sioux Falls Marathon raised over $23,500 for the Sanford Children’s Hospital/Children’s Miracle Network.

Registrations for the Marathon, Half Marathon and Miracle 5K totaled 2,804 registrations which topped the 2013 record of 2,610. The 2,804 registrations are 784 more than the total registrations for the 2015 Sioux Falls Marathon.

“It was a great day of running and we can’t thank the City of Sioux Falls enough for how they embraced our record amount of runners,” said Joe Millar, Race Director of the Sioux Falls Marathon. “41 states and 537 cities were represented in Sioux Falls which shows the amazing impact an event of this nature can have on our city. Then, to see this event raise over $23,500 for Sanford Children’s Miracle Network is absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to see all these numbers increase in 2017.”

“We are beyond blessed to have the partnership that we do with Sioux Falls Sports Authority,” Erin Sanderson, Program Director for Sanford Children’s Miracle Network, said, “They truly took this race series to the next level this year, allowing us to impact even more local families served by Children’s Miracle Network at Sanford Children’s Hospital.”

The 2017 Sioux Falls Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 10 with registration expected to be open by the end of 2016.
