Celebrate Children’s Hospitals’ Week with us– March 18-24!

Sanford Children’s counts on donations to help care for kids, no matter their illnesses or injury. You can help spread this message during Children’s Hospitals Week, from March 18 to 24.

How to get involved:

  1. Wear a bandage of your choice, take a photo and share it with the hashtags #ChildrensHospitalsWeek and #SanfordChildrens on your favorite social media feeds.
  2. Watch the Facebook Live-A-Thon on Wednesday, March 20, starting at 7 p.m. CST. This live fundraiser, broadcast from Walt Disney World, will feature Miracle Kids and appearances from surprise celebrity guests. Watch live at Facebook.com/CMNHospitals.
  3. Donate to Sanford Children’s Miracle Network.

Your support will make a difference for children like Avery Hill, our 2019 Sanford Children’s Miracle Network Champion.

Avery’s story

Avery was born nearly four months early, at just 29 weeks, on October 25, 2014. After five days in the NICU, her doctors discovered she was suffering from two brain bleeds. Only time would tell how Avery’s future would be affected.

“That was the hardest part,” said Mindy, Avery’s mom. “Not knowing what was going to happen.”

A year later, Avery was officially diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy.

Watch Mindy tell Avery’s incredible story of strength and hope.

Mindy and Jared continue to celebrate even the smallest milestones and Avery continues to show her parents that nothing can hold her back, least of all her diagnosis.

Whether she’s playing at recess or trying something new during one of her many physical therapy sessions, Avery is always working to overcome the odds.

“All of her improvements are definitely because of her,” Mindy said. “She has the can-do attitude and puts in the hard work. We just sit along the sidelines and cheer her on.”

Thank you for supporting miracles like Avery!
