History made: $1 billion raised for kids!
It’s official! Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members have raised $1 billion to date for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. Yes, that’s a ‘B’ folks!
Locally, more than $4.3 million has been raised for Sanford Children’s, the region’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, since the partnership with
Walmart and Sam’s Club began 31 years ago. That support makes a big difference for kids like Nolan (pictured left with a Walmart employee).
The 5-year-old was born 14 weeks early, weighing 1 lb. 13 oz. He stayed in the Sanfo
rd Boekelheide Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for 131 days. Can you imagine?
Thank you for helping kids like Nolan!
Here are some highlights from this year’s local Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign:
- More than $167,000 was raised at 15 locations in just five weeks.
- Store associates went above and
beyond by selling cotton candy and root beer floats, hosting carnivals, organizing 5K races, playing in golf tournaments and holding bake sales. - Associates even poured slime on each other and aimed water balloons at management to raise funds.
- Most importantly, generous customers and club members opened their hearts and donated to Children’s Miracle Network at registers.
Thank you!
