Six ways you’ve made a difference

The best gifts come from the heart. Over the past year, the generosity of donors, like you, has made a priceless impact in the lives of patients and families across the Sioux Falls region.

Children’s Miracle Network — More than 1,500 families — like the Hauert family (pictured) — received assistance with costs not covered by insurance, such as meals, lodging, travel, specialty foods, formula and supplies.

Cure Kids Cancer — We now have 10 Child Life Specialists on staff at Sanford Children’s to support young patients through every step of their journey — at no cost to families.

Edith Sanford Breast Foundation — More than 4,600 3D mammograms were provided to women who lacked adequate insurance coverage.

Gift of Time campaign —  In October, the new hospice facility, Ava’s House by Sanford, opened its doors, a milestone not possible without philanthropy.

Research — Sanford’s cancer clinical trial enrollment rate reached 10 percent, double the national average, giving more patients access to leading-edge treatments.

Emerging priorities (Unrestricted Fund) — Twelve nurses were given the resources to complete 40 hours of advanced training to care for victims of sexual assault. (These funds give Sanford’s leadership the flexibility to distribute philanthropic gifts toward areas of greatest need, whether related to patient care, research or education.)

This list could go on and on, but trust us when we say that your philanthropy has made a real and meaningful difference. We are so very grateful for your friendship.
