Walmart & Sam’s Club rally to raise over $200,000 in 7 weeks!

You may have wondered why Walmart and Sam’s Club associates weren’t fundraising for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals this past May. Don’t worry, our largest corporate partner didn’t forget about us, they just changed the dates of their campaign! From August 29-October 16, associates  and customers at 15 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across Eastern South Dakota and Southwest Minnesota helped raise more than $200,000 for Children’s Miracle Network at Sanford Children’s Hospital!

Employees went above and beyond by decorating a Children’s Miracle Network float in the Dakota Days parade in Vermillion, throwing hundreds of water balloons at management, planning potlucks, setting up bake sales and marching in miracle parades inside the stores. Customers also joined in on the fun by donating at check out and by buying balloons and other goodies with all money raised benefiting the kids and families at the Castle of Care.

To celebrate the campaign’s success, we gathered some of the top fundraisers of 2016 for a visit to the Castle of Care and a few words from miracle families and Sanford Children’s leadership.
